Greetings…….. It’s been awhile, but I think I’m now ready to get started here on this prairie life blog again!
Life gets busy sometimes, and if I’m not careful, things get put aside — and that’s what happened here! Plus the fact that I seem to have a one track mind most of the time!
And if you’re wondering, I haven’t been idle — just preoccupied! There is a difference! 🙂
Here’s the proof: I’ve been turning some of my animal friends into books! You can’t imagine the fun I’ve had!!
If you’re curious, you can see all of them in one place.

Now, on to other things!
Spring is Here…and We’ve Never Even had Winter!!
Every year, I ACHE for a good solid winter….you know, the kind with LOTS of snow, and cold. The kind that lasts for months…. Actually it would be fine if it was just snow…and a little bit of cold. And I also have lots of prerequisites for these snows. I want there to be lots of forewarning so the cattlemen can prepare, so their herds don’t suffer too much. I also want everybody to be all snuggled up at home when these storms hit. No one wants to be stranded in their car somewhere, or sliding along, into the ditch.
I am very aware, much to my dismay, that to the North, South, East and far West, THEY got winter….and lots of it at times! I certainly hope they enjoyed it properly! 🙂
But every year, ALL around me, people wish for NO snow….. well, this year there was no compromise! This year, ALL those people got their wish!!😣 We’ve had almost NO snow! And temperatures have been in the 50’s, 60’s and even 70’s, pretty much all winter!
Of course, that’s good livin’ weather, but it sure doesn’t satisfy the “snow bug”!! Also, as you may have heard, it made the ski resorts scramble — no snow, no paycheck!!
Another thing no snow doesn’t satisfy is the need we have for moisture here in farm country! Crops need moisture, and snow is moisture…no moisture, no crops. That of course, remains to be seen.
Guess we’ll see how wet this spring is!

Speaking of spring….. My man got a new toy — a cute little tiller that hooks on the back of our little tractor! And guess what?!?! It’s takes my spring garden tilling from about three hours, down to about 20 minutes!!! Happy dance!! More on that later….
Well, thanks for sticking around, even when I didn’t! I hope to do better….. 🙂

Good Thoughts
